Canadian Council of Grocery Distributors

The Canadian Council of Grocery Distributors (CCGD) is a not for profit organization committed to advancing and promoting the grocery and foodservice distribution industry in Canada.  The CCGD works to recognize, advance and promote industry best practices for the benefit of its Members and the Canadian Consumer.

The food distribution industry is Canada's second largest commercial sector, next to the automotive industry.  CCGD members represent $70.1 billion in grocery and $12 billion in foodservice sales and employ over 455,000 Canadians.  They represent 85% of all grocery (i.e. food, non-food, non-alcoholic beverages) distribution sales in Canada.


CCGD Mission

To be the industry information and service hub for members and their core distribution businesses, advocating best practices, industry standards and a common position on issues to:

-  Enhance the industry's competitiveness.
-  Profile a pro-consumer position.
-  Provide members with an early warning on
   issues.
-  Create an international data source of business
   information.
-  Protect and enhance the industry's profile.

These goals and objectives will be realized and leveraged through domestic and international alliances, representing consumers, distributors and suppliers.
