MORE THAN 200 MOL INSPECTORS TARGETING HIGH-RISK FIRMS
Are your firms on that list?

More than 200 new MOL enforcement officers are targeting close to 3,000 firms for compliance orders - starting now. That's just 2% of Ontario's businesses, but 10% of the province's injuries and 21% of the costs. A full 35% of those workplaces are in the service sector. That means 997 firms in the service sector can expect four visits from an MOL inspector ready to enforce the law in 2005. Do your firms need OSSA's support?

HOW BIG IS YOUR SLICE?
New information on a prevention funding formula

Prevention associations rely on funding from the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. Our ability to meet the growing health and safety needs of trade association members is directly affected by the way the prevention-funding "pie" is sliced by WSIB. Check the February 2005 edition of The Advocate to find out about a groundbreaking prevention funding proposal that has been submitted to better serve you and your industry. Contact President and CEO Elizabeth Mills to find out more now.

IS SOMEONE YOU KNOW STARING DOWN A WORKWELL AUDIT?

We have recently been informed by the WSIB that over 180 firms in the service sector have been selected to undergo a Workwell audit in 2005. The OSSA is your designated Safe Workplace Association - your consulting partner working directly with companies in Ontario's service sector.

OSSA can help trade association members if they need to implement the recommendations outlined in their Workwell audit. Our team of experienced consultants across Ontario can assist your members to meet audit requirements and achieve positive outcomes.
