Going back to 'school' could save lives at your workplace

Training is a key element in building a solid, sustainable workplace health & safety program and in preventing fatalities and injuries. It helps you and your staff recognize and control hazards that could cause fatalities, injuries or illness among workers. This fall, OSSA and it's partners IAPA offer up new opportunities to listen to the experts; and acquire health and safety training and information to take back to your workplace.
During September we're offering you the the opportunity to take advantage of some free training on workplace health & safety and to get involved in a free promotion that will help instill a culture of safety within your organization and help everyone walk, talk and live safety.
The September issue of The Regional points you to some free, ready-to-use material; presents an interactive tool to help you pay special attention to the health and safety of older workers; and lets you know how and where you might acquire specific health and safety training and information.
OSSA Products & Resources

As we grow older our ability to perform certain tasks begins to gradually diminish. At the workplace it's no different.
As the average age of the workforce rises and mandatory retirement is removed, workplaces are faced with increasing need to accommodate the changing capabilities of older workers. Click here to access OSSA's new free online module on Older Workers health & Safety to learn how older workers represent a valuable resource to their organizations and what you could do to protect their health and safety.
OSSA's new Safety in a Box product promotion is putting a complete set of ready-to-use material on lifting safely at your fingertips, free of charge. Simply click here to learn more. Then download the application form, fax the completed form to us and we'll send you the link to all the material.
Once you've downloaded and used the material at your workplace you'll see what we mean by "instill a culture of safety where everyone, walks, talks and lives safety". We wouldn't blame you if you wanted the whole box of topics after that.
