The WSIB will be calling.  Will your business pass the test?

If your business employs 20 or more workers, you or your Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) members could receive a call from the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board.

This is part of a province-wide initiative to verify your organization’s compliance with the JHSC Certification training requirement under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).

When the WSIB calls your JHSC members, they will verify and determine your certification status by asking a series of questions to which they will expect satisfactory answers.

You could wait for the call from the WSIB or contact OSSA and learn how you can comply with the JHSC training requirement.  You owe it to your organization to act now.

You should always tape down electrical cords if there is a possibility of someone walking over the cord. This will minimize the possibility of someone tripping. Refer to OSSA Safety Check Sheet on Preventing Slips, Trips and Falls for more information.
