OSSA is seeking to bring together like-minded, safety-conscious firms from among its membership to develop and plan sustainable prevention programs.  Members will work on common problems and hazards and integrate these solutions into their workplace.

The benefits of participating in Safety Groups are manifold.  Some of these are:

• Opportunity to reduce WSIB premiums and receive a collective rebate.  There exists the potential to actually receive an annual rebate cheque from the WSIB.
• Tap into existing best practices of peers
• Tap into OSSA consultants for coaching and other assistance
• Temporarily remove firms from the Workwell Audit list.

OSSA has already established two successful Safety Group chapters with the following trade associations:

In addition to inviting member firms to register for one of the existing chapters, OSSA is now accepting registrations for additional chapters across Ontario particularly in Ottawa, London, Barrie, Muskoka and the Golden Horseshoe regions. The sectors of greatest interest are:

• Tourism & Hospitality firms
• Auto dealerships and auto service firms
• Golf courses
• Restaurants

Important information for retailers

OSSA has formed a partnership with the Retail Council of Canada (RCC), an association that has been running a successful Safety Group for retailers over the last three years.
